Q. What can I expect to earn as a Style Coach™?

As a Style Coach™, you can expect to earn no less than £40 GBP per hour. For a standard four-hour Style Coaching™ session this would work out at about £160 per session. An experienced and confident Style Coach™ can expect to earn up to twice this amount per hour. Some Style Coaches™ like to operate a sliding scale of charges in order to allow Style Coaching™ to become accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget. This great earning potential together with the flexibility and freedom to pick and choose your working hours makes Style Coaching™ an exciting career opportunity!

Q. Am I too young / too old to study Style Coaching™?

There isn’t a preferred age to study Style Coaching™ and we currently have practicing Style Coaches™ ranging from the age of 18 – 65. We believe that all ages have their own strengths and positive attributes!

We consider maturity to be a wonderful asset to a Style Coach™ as the more mature lady has a huge amount of life experience to share with clients, particularly when looking at Style Coaching™ as a “holistic” process. One of our most dynamic and stylish students was a lady in her mid 60’s and she has gone on to become a truly inspirational Style Coach™! She had such wonderful rapport skills and was fantastic at helping people to feel instantly at ease!

On the other hand, we have some amazing Style Coaches™ who are only in their late teens / early twenties but who are very enthusiastic, energetic and motivated. I can think of twin sisters who work with one another (they graduated on their 21st birthday) and they offer style and confidence workshops, have a fantastic reputation, are featured in many magazines and newspapers, and have really set up a wonderful business.

We find that clients of all ages are in search of Style Coaches™ and so it is wonderful to have Style Coaches™ in every age group who are able to give their advice and guidance. From my experience, clients generally prefer to work with a Style Coach™ of their approximate age group as they tend to feel more comfortable so there really is a Style Coach™ for every client and vice versa!

Q. In light of the current economic climate, will Style Coaching™ still be a viable career?

Luckily, Style Coaching™ is a very adaptable specialization and has many invaluable benefits to both individual clients as well as businesses. For the flexible Style Coach™, there will continue to be massive opportunity as always and the economic recession may in fact provide more reasons than ever for some individuals and businesses to seek Style Coaching™ services!

With the economic climate as it is at the moment, there is going to be ever more competition in the jobs marketplace. Q. Can a career in Style Coaching™ incorporate my past experiences?

Many Style Coaches™ have personalized the Style Coaching™ experience to suit their past specialization's – for example, a particularly interesting angle was that one Style Coach™ used to help people to get back into employment after a long-term break so she decided to offer Style Coaching™ to people looking for a new job (coaching them through interview dressing / confidence while giving presentations / creating an appropriate image, etc)! An invaluable service to advertise at the moment, and one that any Style Coach™ would be qualified to offer!

Another Style Coach™ came from a medical background and decided to offer Style Coaching™ to individuals recovering from debilitating illnesses such as Breast Cancer; she found that Style Coaching™ helped them to focus on creating a positive body image, and helped them to build up confidence again.

Another Style Coach™ was a wedding planner so she decided to offer Style Coaching™ to Brides, Grooms, Mothers of the Bride, etc…

Another Style Coach™ had a husband who was a successful Financial Trader so she decided she wanted to offer Style Coaching™ aimed at business men – she was extremely successful financially from this unique approach.

Q. What is a Style Coach™?

A Style Coach™ is a person whose job it is to help people look good on the outside and feel GREAT on the inside! They have the skills and knowledge of a Personal Stylist combined with the ability of a coach to help people reach their full potential.

Q. Why the name Style “COACH”?

Because a coach helps a client to clarify where they are today with regards to their style / confidence, and more importantly where they want to be. What is their desired destination and how are they to get there? This destination could be to be full of confidence / to look good, to feel great everyday - with the least amount of effort! A coach helps to facilitate their client in getting from A (where they are now) to B (where they want to be).

Q. What’s different about Style Coaching™?

Style Coaching™ is a unique combination of Styling and Coaching skills, that embraces the whole person - it takes a holistic approach. Unlike image consultants or fashion consultants, we work with a client not only on the image they see in the mirror, but on the image they see in their mind’s eye too (their internal self-image). We help a client to develop their own, personal and unique style not clones of ourselves. A style that suits their lifestyle needs and who they are as a person. Q. Who would benefit from a Style Coach™ / who would want to work with a Style Coach™?

Anybody who would like to improve the way they look or the way they feel. It is for everyday, average men and women from all walks of life. Not just for the rich and famous, but for the real life desperate housewives, people who are trying to juggle jobs, kids, cooking, cleaning, relationships, let alone shopping and trying to look good and feel great too! For so many of us these days, life is hectic and full of daily challenges, and how we dress can really change how we feel and how we are able to cope with these daily challenges. When we start the day in a positive, powerful, resourceful state of mind, we are much more able to cope happily and without stress.

Q. After I’ve completed the course, what are the possibilities open to me?

It is a case that most Style Coaches™ set up a private consultation business, where they are self-employed and therefore able to experience the benefits of this (being able to pick and choose your working hours / being your own boss / creating a balance between your work and private life work / gaining personal satisfaction, etc, etc). They work primarily with one-to-one clients on a private basis as well as offering occasional Style Coaching™ workshops / Style and Image evenings / events, Inside & Out Makeovers, giving television appearances, working on fashion shoots, etc, to ensure that their work is varied and not dependent on one portion of the potential of their business.

Others then have gone on to offer their services in corporate settings offering Style Coaching™ to the staff of various businesses; this can have fantastic earning potential. Some Style Coaches™ prefer to offer their professional services to Department Stores / Boutiques as either an “”in-house” Style Coach™ or a Style Coach™ who is available on certain days of the week on a Freelance basis. This can be a good choice for those who wish to have the stability of a regular, guaranteed income. A Diploma in Style Coaching™ goes a long way in securing positions such as a Personal Shopper in department stores and boutiques; we have trained Personal Shoppers who either originated from or went on to work for Debenhams, Oasis, Brown Thomas, Top Shop, Selfridges, Monsoon, Harvey Nichols and Next to name but a few.

Some Style Coaches™ choose to offer a fully holistic approach (the full Style Coaching™ experience as taught by the Institute) while others prefer to offer their favorite services only – for example, some specialize in Wardrobe Analysis and / or Personal Shopping, while others specialize in Makeovers for special occasions, or Confidence Coaching, etc…

Q. Is there any after-training support if I need help or advice?

Absolutely! It is never a case that you’re ‘on your own’ – we keep in regular contact with our graduates and love to hear how they are getting on in their new venture! Expert members of our team are always on-call to give their expert advice, guidance, and support to our practicing Style Coaches™. We also have an in-house Life and Business Coach who is available for one-to-one coaching calls to help you to establish a clear picture of what you want to achieve, and set some realistic goals based on your individual “desired outcome”. Q. Do I need to have any previous experience in Styling or Coaching?

While previous experience can be useful, it is certainly not essential. You can study Style Coaching™ regardless of your previous work or educational history. Throughout the course you will learn all the skills you need to become a professional Style Coach™. The ideal student is someone who has an interest in clothes, styling and self-development, who enjoys working with people and longs to make a difference! Q. I don’t want to become a Style Coach™ but I do want to make changes in my own life - would this course benefit me anyway?

Yes. Our courses, while primarily aimed at those wishing to start a new career as a Style Coach™, are also aimed at those wishing to re-ignite their own passion for looking good and feeling great!
